Creating Your Own Garden Of Eden

As everyone knows, the best thing about a garden is that there’s no end to what you can do. Your garden can be little more than a few plants in a row or you could plant a sprawling, 100-acre garden full of roses. Anything you want your garden to be can happen, but you’ll need something more than just plants to create a wonderful area. After all, a hundred rose bushes are just a bunch of flowers, unless you add garden structures and take the time to do a little planning. With garden structures as supporting features, you can create your own Garden of Eden!

The first important garden structure is a walkway. This is the front door to your Garden of Eden, and the first thing people see when they come to enjoy your garden. There are a few different ways to go about creating this walkway. A walkway isn’t trying to overpower someone who walks into the garden but gives them an introduction of what’s about to come their way. You can have a simple, closed doorway that says more with less or have a long walkway of 10 feet or more. You can plant ivy that will grow and surround your entry to cover the entire walkway until nothing can be seen above except small flashes of sky. This entryway will create an ambiance of fantasy and fairytale, a portal through which a person walks to see your Garden of Eden. The risk is alienating the outside world from your fabulous garden and the walkway feeling like a cage.

Once inside the garden, plant formations will speak for themselves. There are some important structures to have that add to the feeling your plants give. The first structures to choose are a table and some chairs, which will allow the people enjoying the garden to sit comfortably inside the world you’ve created for them. You want to make sure these chairs and table match the natural feel of your area or the scene will appear forced. An ivory-white color usually does the trick for capturing this feeling, and rustic wrought iron also works well. A fountain is the final must-have in a garden, because it is the centerpiece that everything revolves around. When a person walks through a garden, the fountain area is the structure that will draw the most attention and comment, making this accessory an absolute necessity in the Garden of Eden.
