This is among the strangest things Ive ever seen. Anyone with a pond/watergarden, HELP!?
I recently redid a watergarden in my backyard after roots ripped through the orginial flexible liner, (the old liner was about 5 yrs old). Well this morning I was awaken by my bro reporting the pond was empty. I rolled out of bed thinkin yesterday was hot it’s probably just alittle low. When I went outside all the water was gone (300-500 gallons) leaving these massive water filed bubbles in the liner and a deep trench with just enough water to insure fish survival. Somehow hundreds of gallons of water got from inside pond to inbetween the liner and the ground, so my question is how did it happen, how do I fix it and how do I prevent it from reoccuring?
The issue is with 300-500 gallons directly underneath the pond. Logic would suggest that if it was a leak deep in the liner after the dirt surrounding it was saturated it would stop, but in this case the water actually formed pockets and pushed parts of the liner up and out of the hole.
And to clarify been moderate temp up to yesterday and the ground is soaked from a rainstorm last night.

How to keep fish alive in a water garden?
I bought a small fountain and I have 3 plants in it with 3 tad poles and 2 fish. I have a Pix if want to send me a message. I am worried that the water is not good water for my fish. My Fiance thinks that the plants are too much dirt for a small fountain or my water garden is needing an oxygen pump to keep the Fish alive. My mom has a similar larger scale water garden with a Fountain, plants and fish the only difference is she has well water and her watergarden is much larger than mine. So do I need an oxygen pump plus my fountain? Should I take the plants out? Or do you think I need to buy bottled water to put in my fountain; or atleast buy the chemical that takes the floride and chlorine out of the water?
Just put plants and fish in my tank last night. Came home from work today my trickler got clogged up with dirt from my plants and somehow my water was dripping out. It wasn’t empty when I got home today but the water level was low. And guess what? I killed 2 tad poles and 2 fish. Maybe I should just stick to plants I can keep them alive. Then I don’t have to be responsible for anything elses death. Wish I could post a pix here, there is one on my 360 page if you want to see what I am working with.

My Little Water Garden
Made a little water garden by recycling some old potting containers and a vase. Planted some water plants, stocked it with fish and I now enjoy a bit of Nature on my apartment balcony.

Is it possible to have a watergarden pump that is too powerful?
I have a watergarden that is around 800 gallons (11′ x 6′ x 1.5 appx). It seems the best pumps and filters use 2000 gph pump. Isn’t this too much? I live in Florida and the pond easily gets 6 hours of sun. I’m new to this and the more I read, the more confused I get! I recently looked into a skimmer/filter system but now i’m looking at a waterfall/filter system, as it seems better. The pump I have is 535gph and it has a fountain attachment. I’m going to add fish eventually. And am I right that the pump just attaches to the waterfall with tubing?
