I have a large goldfish in my 500 + gal watergarden, who began having a white/grey patch on the front of his dorsal fin near his head, and the same over both his gills. The patches over his gills seem to be getting a little larger, and he seems to be feeling ill. I thought it may be a fungus, so i treated his water with a medication for ick, which also treats fungal infections, but he does not seem to be geting any better. Now it seems that he is missing a few scales from both his sides. Could someone let me know what they think, i’m not sure if this is a illness, fungus, ulcer. Also, he has 3 other buddies, all of which are doing just fine, and seem to not be affected. BTW, my husband noticed that one of the other goldfish looked like he was pestering the sick one, like he kept nudging and kissing him on both his sides. I thought nothing of this, they all seem to rub up against each other alot, and seem to get along really well, and are about the same size.

Installing a pond at Pondmarket

Made a little water garden by recycling some old potting containers and a vase. Planted some water plants, stocked it with fish and I now enjoy a bit of Nature on my apartment balcony.
