Hope got very little camera time throughout his career with Kansas! I don't know why except maybe Walsh and Steinhardt were so captivating and of course the camera would be on whoever was soloing(even that was surprisingly screwed up on many Kansas live vids!)He is an amazingly underrated player! Actually they all were individually!!!!

You're also a lucky man! I never got to see Kerry with any of his solo projects! I love "Seeds of Change"! I saw Kansas twice in the 70's, once with Elefante(got to meet them backstage!) and once in the mid 90's opening for Styx! There are no great bands like these anymore! As Metallica said Sad but True! Wow, well you're a lucky man. I saw AD, with Kerry Livgren and Dave Hope, in the early or mid-1980s (Dust in the Wind was great), and then I saw Kansas with Steve Walsh in the mid-90s. But I really wish I'd seen them in the 70s! Where are the great bands like these, anymore? Cheers mate! VJ

Is Kerry doing the posting here? Wow! I just wanted to say thank; this stuff has some good memories for me. Also remember seeing you and Dave with A.D. in Okiboji, IA at a little club with some rowdy homecoming crowd from the local college there. They wrecked the gig for the rest of us. Still a great moment for me to stand within a few feet of you during the set. Wonderful to observe your technique. Was in school with Kris Livgren at a Christian College in Nebraska. Thanks again.

You're right! It's not fair to leave anybody out because every "cylinder" was firing in this band! I was just pointing out the most obvious things that made them different and unique! Individually they all were excellent players! I saw them 4 times but thank god for you-tube! There seems to be a never ending supply of Kansas audio and video surfacing here! Rock on my friend!

I know how that is--I was also just going to single out Walsh and Ehart--somehow, he always seems one of the stars in this band--and I was going to say, it sure seems as if Robbie Steinhardt brought a lot to this band. I mean, in addition to his music, his personality and presence. But I can hardly single out those three people only--Dave Hope on the bass, Kerry Livgren, Rich Williams plays beautifully on this track--they were definitely firing on all cylinders. Wish I'd seen them then!

Usually it was worn by guys like this one(Steve Walsh) because he was an animal onstage! He would jump all over the place,do handstands on his keyboards and jump out into the crowd! Try doing that in spandex and people would be looking at your ass and junk in no time!

What a great album opener. I remember buying the CD in March of 2004 and knew I was in for a treat with the album. Monolith is one of the Top 3 Kansas albums ever IMHO! Kerry Livgren, one of the most underrated guitarists in rock history. Him and Rich Williams were the greatest American guitar duo. Duane Allman and Dickey Betts had nothing on these two. Williams' basic work complimented with Livgren's flashier but excellent playing.

Que Idiota eres, se nota que no conoces nada de música. El vuelo que tiene es comparable al de Elfman. Es simple basura posmoderna que mezcla. La idea musical hace muy monótona la música. Sólo compone cosas mediocres. Su concierto para piano es horroroso. No podría ni llegar al vuelo de sus contemporaneos como Britten o Stravinsky. Cuantas ópreas dio el minimalismo, cuantas sinfonias o requiem ? Nada importante.Y las producciones, como la sinfonia de Glass es mediocre.

I forgot the names, but Craig and Anthony are only supporting the band, they actually aren't part of the band. Um, I know these guys also don't have a percusionist. There is a guitarist, a drummer, a singer, and a bassist. Again, I forgot the names. If I remember that is the structure of the band, everyone else is just supporting the band.

It was May 29,2004 and I witnessed several tornadoes on this day just to the southwest of Wichita, Kansas, after this tornado the skies opened up and large destructive tornadoes skipped through the Kansas Country side just before dark.
